Knol started by Google is a great article writing platform.
It has wiki facility to facilitate collaboration. I have coauthors from all over the world. We as a group are putting up efforts to grow the knol to profitable operations.
By July 2010, knol will be completing two years of public operations. 400,000 articles are posted so far in it. Many pages have more than 25,000 page views.
There are authors with million page views.
Presently 124 authors have more than 100,000 page views. By July 2010 this figure will grow to at least 200 knol authors.
There are many professors, research scholars, company executives and businessmen on knol writing for sharing their knowledge with many. For any subject, you can check knol search engine for information. There are knols or articles explaining basics and there are even very recent research papers of most advanced nature.
